Using Google AdSense With Gusto
Google AdSense is a totally free program that Google created to allow publishers (website owners) to advertise other publishers on their personal sites. Every time any user clicks one of these ads (automatic text, image, video, and rich media adverts), you get paid actual money for it. All you have to do is sign up to start making some dough. Here’s how to get started.
Setting up an account is as easy as visiting the Google AdSense page. It will ask for your Google information, but it only takes a minute to sign up for an account if you don’t already have one.
1.) First put a website for use with Google AdSense together. Google has a published criteria for the websites they accept to the AdSense program. Extra tip: Make sure you construct a website with a legitimate purpose other than attaining money from the program.
Sign Up Having the Following Information Ready
- Website URL
- Website Language
- Address and Mobile Number
2.) The next step, is to submit all the information that is necessary. Once all the steps at the AdSense website are finished, and policies are agreed upon, click the “Submit” tab.
3.) Now you need to activate the account. You will receive a notification via email for approval. Click the URL in the email to switch on the account. After logging in to the account, find the HTML code for the approved publishing. Select the “AdSense setup” button, then follow it to the “AdSense for Content” link. Choose “Ad Unit” in the next page and select “Continue.”
4.) And, now, select the correct “Ad format” and then select “Continue.” Finally, copy and paste the code into the desired section of the website. In the grey Google box, there is some HTML to copy into the publisher website. Copy the HTML and move it to the desired area in the website.
Extra tip: Ad channels allow you to track the performance of each ad being created. This especially comes into play if you’re setting up more than one publisher. Creating a new channel for each website will give you a clear picture of which site is pulling the greatest AdSense cash. In the final process, you will be asked to give a name to the ad unit you have created. Naming it will help you keep the ad campaigns straight if you have more than one website.
The program is versatile and works with just about any website, from those with Windows VPS hosting by Myhosting.com to ones hosted on a dedicated server. It’s designed to work with what you already have. AdSense is sometimes used as a starting point for website owners who will eventually move on to other, more traditional sources of advertising revenue — it’s an easy way for publishers to dip their toe in the advertising pond.
