Youtube Channel View Changes [INFOGRAPHIC]

Youtube: Channel Art GuidelinesThere have been some changes in Youtube Channel view. We drew up a small info graph to bring out the logic of how your channel art images are displayed in different devices.

For optimal results on all devices Youtube recommends uploading a single 2560 X 1440 px image that has been optimized to fit all other devices.

Here are all the numbers you need and you can even download a handy PDF Infographic.

1. How it works on TV

The whole image will be used! Aspect ratio is 16:9

Width: 2560 pixels

Height: 1140 pixels

2. How it works on Desktop Max

The “safe area” (channel art at minimum width) will always be visible and the areas to the right and left might be visible depending on the viewer’s browser size.

Width: 2560 pixels

Height: 423 pixels

3. How it works on Tablets

Youtube is using a slightly wider slice on tablets.

Width: 1855 pixels

Height: 423 pixels

4. How it works on Desktop Min and Mobile

There is a minimum size at which point the site would no longer adapt and a scroll bar would appear in the browser window.

Width: 1546 pixels

Height: 423 pixels

This is the “Safe area” given that text and logos will not be cut off.

On mobile Youtube is using the safe area scaled down to the width of the mobile screen which varies by device.
