    Hi Priit,

thank you very much for this great list and sharing all this information about the different tools. I also think that there are differences between the tools, especially when it comes to usability and different options for optimizing social media management. In my eyes that is one reason why you should always consider the choice of tools for a blog as a whole.

Some tools that seem to make sense don’t really have to be the right choice. Some can, for example, slow down the speed of the website. That’s why you should consider the right setup of tools for the blog. Therefore, lists like these are a very good place to find the right tool for you.

Another interesting tool I would like to introduce to you is the Blog2Social plugin. It has powerful options for easily sharing your posts across all popular social media networks in one easy step. You can optionally customize your posts for each network and automatically schedule your posts for the best times to share. The plugin is a big time saver for cross-promoting.

I’d love to hear what you think about it.

    Kind regards and happy sharing,

Hi Priit, it was a pleasure to read such a well-crafted round-up!
Of all the tools listed here, I must admit TweetDeck is my favourite. It makes keeping up with the Twitter conversations such a pleasant experience.
As much as I love free tools, I think sometimes they lack some functionalities paid solutions can provide. I was also wondering if you considered including https://brand24.com on this list. With its free trial, I reckon it might be an interesting pick for some of your readers.

This is quite a good list of tools but a cool app is missing from this list.

A tool that I’ve been using for quite sometime now is Crowdfire – it’s a Twitter growth tool which let’s you get relevant followers with features like Copy followers and Keyword follow. Schedule your tweets to get maximum reach with Publish, manage non-followers and inactive followers and engage with new users using Auto direct message.

Interesting list, thank you! I know it is an article with free tools but I would like to suggest also Mentionlytics.com. It has a total free trial and a limited time offer at 29$ to get started! You may have a try at it! (lots of cool features packed in!) (http://www.mentionlytics.com)

  45. Marco says:

Thanks for the article. I have been using paid tools so far, so it’s always helpful to see what there is for free in the market. Do you have also advice for management such as task assignments in distributed teams? so far Ive tried http://www.socialhub.io – would look forward to hearing your feedback. Cheers, Marco

Wow! Very useful your list. Oscilloskope – http://www.oscilloskope.com is another player on the market which tracks and measure the online exposure and help you understand your audience. Plus, it offers real Facebook monitoring from the real users, not the comments from your page. Check it out!

http://sociograph.io – it’s another great tool for Facebook Group and Pages analytics.

The report contains the following data:
    1. All posts with number of likes, comments and shares
    2. All contributors with number of posts, comments and likes
    3. Influencers rating system
    4. Activity graph
    5. And much more

The data can be exported to CSV for offline analysis.
    The tool is completely free.

Please ping me if you have additional questions about the tool.

Thanks for a very interesting list. Some of the platforms are new to me and will definitely give a try. Hootsuite is my favourite free platform at the moment. The scheduled posting option is excellent as I can plan a lot of social media activity well in advance.

  59. Laura G Thorne says:

Hi, It doesn’t seem that Social Mention is tracking Twitter anymore – not finding any activity for our biz Twitter acct yet we receive dozens of mentions daily. Perhaps related to discontinuation of first generation API by Twitter, not sure – I don’t use social mention that regularly so couldn’t say when this happened but definitely doesn’t work now! Anyone else had the same experience? Thanks

  60. Ian Smith says:

    Good grief !!
How do you find the time to carry out such a comprehensive assessment?
