Facebook Fans Are Back!
Last week I noticed a sudden jump in the unsubscription rate of the Facebook pages I’m managing. The fans started to unsubscribe all at once on January 4. I wrote a post about it and many readers offered suggestions what might have happened (Facebook: Where Have All The Fans Gone?).
In comments you offered suggestions about what happened. Clearing out inactive accounts, Facebook adding and unlike button next to the feed stories.
Well, now all the fans are back and even more. This means that the number of unsubscribers is lower than it was before January 4. On the January 26 the number of Lifetime Total Unsubscribers dropped back down. In all cases that I have observed the number of unsubscribers has dropped between 40 to 60 percent.
So, what’s up with that? If you base your activitiest on Facebook analytics then you might get really stressed out. If you try new things and see unsubscription rate rise then you stop. Only to find out that it was Facebook’s closed way of fiddling with things. What do you thin happened?
