Tried and Tested Online Marketing Strategies
Filed under: Business, Guest Posts, SEO, Social Media
If you have a competitive spirit you will always strive to be the best or be better at what you do. You will very rarely settle for second best and accepting defeat is not part of your fiber. This may all sound a little dramatic if you think that this piece is focused on brining you insights into the world of tried and tested online marketing strategies. However, we will be looking at those strategies that will add a competitive edge to your marketing campaign and also help guide you to success. These strategies are war veterans with plenty of experience and a never say die attitude. They know what it takes to reach the top and stay there. These are the strategies that you want on your side.
Own a website
Now you are most probably thinking to yourself, duh! The sad part is that there are still a lot of businesses out there who don’t own a website and therefore have no online presence. To get into the online marketing game, you will need to have a website that is a capable and well-structured place for your marketing targets to land on. This forms the foundation for a successful online marketing campaign and your website needs to be user friendly. You will gain nothing if you are generating loads of traffic to your site and then no one converts into customers because your website looks like a dog’s wallop.
Social Media
This strategy only came to light in the last couple of years but it has made a tremendous impact in the world of online marketing. Yes it may still be developing but it is only getting stronger and better. With the likes of Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube and Twitter to name but a few, social media marketing has taken the world by storm. These platforms have incredible marketing power and needs to be incorporated as part of any online marketing strategy; otherwise you will be losing out.
PPC (Pay-per-click)
PPC is essentially the use of well placed advertisements that link back to your website. Not as fresh as social media but a pretty air tight method of generating traffic towards your website. Most businesses implement this strategy as it is very popular and has a track record of working well.
Blogging and Online Articles
This is a very popular and “Google friendly” way of getting links to your website out there. Search engines (especially Google) are very strict on what they allow and what not. They place high value on relevant content and well written pieces. You can never go wrong with these articles. Starting up a company blog or a niche specific blog is a good way of getting website traction and ranking higher in search engine queries.
SEO
SEO (search engine optimization) basically includes all of the above and more. There are companies who specialize in SEO and who focus all their attention on getting a client’s website to rank high in search engines. Techniques include looking into web analytics and implementing these web analytics.
