Integrate location with social media!

FoursquareAccording to Social Media Report 2011, at least 30% of the marketers plan to increase their use of services like Foursquare, Gowalla, Loopt, etc. Even Facebook Deals provides mobile check-ins and associates them with deals and discounts.

The early adopters in this area seem to be the larger businesses. An example: for their 40th anniversary Starbucks randomly gave out 40$ gift cards to people who checked in with Foursquare.

However, smaller brick-and-mortar shops are starting to follow the same trend and they see it as a way to increase sales and potentially find new customers. Personally, I see services such as Foursquare to be more benefitial especially for the smaller businesses as it’s possible to increase sales while staying cost-effective.

Get started with Foursquare right now:

1. Claim your venue
2. Create a special offer to increase sales and link up with new customers
3. Create a campaign – give out free goods for your loyal customers. They are also the most likely evangelists to tell others about your business.
4. Test to see what’s working and what’s not. Testing is possible through using the data on Venue Stats Dashboard.
5. Repeat steps 2-4

Is your business using services such as Foursquare to promote your products?

Foursquare become a trend now and largely use to integrate with social media.
In foursquare allow it to show all shop nearby and promotion available.
Like when they going to lunch and they log in Foursquare, they could found some promo nearby them to provide option and decision to them what to eat.
Foursquare is good to promote Physical Shop.
